The Coyotes of Topanga performed the hilarious sure-to-be-an-anthem: “Coyotes of Topanga” set to the music “Werewolves of London” by the late, great Warren Zevon.

On November 22nd in a sleepy little town, in a modest but most beloved venue something magical happened. Kids, tweens, teens, parents and a random sampling of nocturnal woodland creatures looked up, if only for a moment, from their mobile devices to watch a stunning array of performers in the 2014 Topanga Talent Show.

The Topanga Youth Services production took place in front of a packed Community House and, although there was a smattering of drama and comedy, music was by far the main emphasis.

Lovely Samara Ferra sang and played the original song, “Candy Night."

From singing the classics, original compositions and pop hits to adeptly playing instruments, there was nothing the cast didn’t tackle.

After the show it was gratifying to hear so many comments like “Wow!” “That was cool!” and “I didn’t know they could do that.” coming from peers and parents alike. But ultimately it wasn’t even about how well the kids performed on stage. The real talent was just being brave enough to get up there and go for it. Topanga must be doing something right. Bravo!
