Second Annual Topanga Symphony Fundraiser, September 20­­­

Members of the Topanga Symphony onstage just before its landmark 100th performance on Sunday, August 23 at the Topanga Community House.

Keeping classical music from becoming a lost art form is a challenge for all who embrace the music and strive to perform or attend live performances whenever possible.

This is what the Topanga Symphony has done for 33 years and will continue to do with the ongoing support of its music-loving patrons, who are invited to attend the Second Annual Fundraiser for the Topanga Symphony on Sunday, September 20, from 2 to 5 p.m.

If you have never attended a performance of the Symphony, here is an opportunity to support our own and experience some of the finest artists as they perform exquisite classical music in an intimate and breathtaking setting at the beautiful Tuscali Mountain Inn.

This distinctive hilltop Topanga venue, owned and operated by Bruce and Teresa Royer, provides sweeping canyon views and handcrafted Tuscan architecture and is an inspirational location to enjoy chamber music by outstanding musicians.

Principal clarinetist, Jim Stanley; Symphony Music Director, conductor and cellist, Jerome Kessler; and pianist, Theodora Primes, will be playing the “B flat Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano,” by Beethoven; the “Sonata # 1 in C minor for Cello and Piano,” by St.-Saens; and works by Alan Shulman, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Maestro Kessler.

Rebecca Catterall has organized a tantalizing silent auction that you can bid on while enjoying gourmet hors d'oeuvres and beverages before the concert and during intermission.

There is a 50-person limit, so reserve your spot now.

Tickets, $65, will not be available at the door and need to be purchased in advance, online through Pay Pal from our new website,, (created by Elise Celeste Freeman, a new viola player with the Topanga Symphony), or by mail. About the Topanga Symphony—The Topanga Symphony was founded in the summer of 1982 and has since presented a regular program of free concerts of high quality. It is truly a community orchestra, consisting of a mixture of amateurs, students and professional musicians. The audiences consist mainly of Topanga residents, but music lovers throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area attend every concert. Being community-based, the orchestra provides a good opportunity for aspiring musicians to work with experienced professionals.
