2015 Topanga Film Festival Invites Entries

The Topanga Film Festival (TFF), a project of Topanga Film Institute (TFI), a 501[c]3 non-profit organization, and Royer Studios has called for entries for its 2015 festival to be held from July 30 to August 2 in Topanga, California.

After great success with the 2014 Tenth Anniversary Festival, TFF is expanding the Festival with new categories for its 11th year to include Music Video, Experimental Short Films, Horror Short & Feature Films, Wildlife Shorts and New Energy Shorts & Features. It continues the categories of Short Films, Dance Film Shorts, Feature Narratives and Feature Documentaries.

A new Screenplay Competition in the categories of Comedy, Romance, Sci-Fi & Drama will be launched to further our interest in the art of storytelling, and a horror competition to showcase the genre where many directors start.

Nominated as “one of the 25 coolest film festivals in the world” by Filmmaker Magazine, the Topanga Film Festival programs short and feature films that challenge convention and tell stories that inspire new and original ways of seeing and understanding the world.

The pop-up, open-air boutique film festival, frequented by the Los Angeles film and music industry, environmentalists, foodies and the eclectic Topanga community, provides a unique opportunity to enjoy a wealth of international and local content that ranges from creative to educationally empowering.

Jury Prizes will be awarded to the best film in each category of competition. A number of past filmmakers have seen their films acquired for distribution, and/or gone on to receive critical acclaim and Academy Awards.

"The Topanga Film Festival is a true original, a chance to see great films under the stars in one of the most magical spots on the continent. A jewel of a festival," says actor Wendie Malick.

Films may be submitted via WithoutaBox.com; FilmFreeway.com; or mail to Topanga Film Institute & Festival, 120 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd. #215, Topanga, CA 90290.
