Senator Pavley Applauds Investments in Sustainable Water Infrastructure

SACRAMENTO—Senator Fran Pavley (D-Agoura Hills), chair of the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee, issued the following statement about the Water Quality, Supply and Infrastructure Improvement Act of 2014, which was approved unanimously by the Senate on August 13.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for regions across California to become more self-sufficient in meeting their water supply needs. Reliance on volatile Sierra snow pack will become an increasing problem in years to come. The bond does a great deal to advance regional solutions such as groundwater cleanup and recharge, water recycling, storm water capture and projects to assist communities that lack access to safe drinking water. California is a diverse state, and this bond does a great deal to provide more reliable water supplies no matter where you live.”
