Pepperdine University Announces 2014-2015 Season

 

Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Dave Mason, Ukulele Phenomenon Jake Shimabukuro, Jazz Great Al Jarreau, Country/Gospel Musician Collin Raye, And Grammy-Winning Vocalist Roberta Flack are just a few of the artists set to appear at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center For The Arts at Pepperdine University during Its 2014-2015 season.

Among the Musicians and Bands coming to Pepperdine's Malibu Campus are Marc Cohn, Sara Watkins, The Dunwells, The Hot Sardines, Bettye Lavette, Felix Cavaliere's Rascals, 2cellos, Cyro Baptista, And Shuffle Concert, which allows the audience to choose what is performed.

Los Angeles' Own Versa-Style Dance Company Sets The Pace For A Dynamic Season Of Dance, Which Includes Performances By Popular Troupe Pilobolus And The Innovative Northwest Dance Project.

Guitar Artistry Is Showcased In Concerts By Jesse Cook And Leo Kottke, As Well As At The 2015 Parkening International Guitar Competition.

The Gregg G. Juarez Stars Of Stage And Screen Series Includes Tea For Three: Lady Bird, Pat & Betty, Starring Actress Elaine Bromka; Tommy Tune: Taps, Tunes & Tall Tales; And The Marcy And Zina Show, Starring Lyricist Marcy Heisler And Composer Zina Goldrich.

Offerings For Kids And Families Include Schoolhouse Rock Live!, The Very Hungry Caterpillar And Other Eric Carle Favorites, Marionetas De La Esquina In Sleeping Beauty Dreams, And The Okee Dokee Brothers.

The Recital Series, Featuring The Talents Of Young Classical Musicians, Includes Performances By Pianist Sean Chen, Violinist Hye-Jin Kim, The Calidore String Quartet, And Cellist Christine Lamprea.

The Frederick R. Weisman Museum Of Art Features An Exhibition Of Works By Chuck Close, As Well As On Location In Malibu 2015: Paintings By The California Art Club, Among Others. The Museum Is Open From 11 A.M. To 5 P.M., Tuesday Through Sunday, And Is Free Of Admission Charge.

The Pepperdine Fine Arts Division Presents Léhar's Opera The Merry Widow; Theatre Productions Of John Patrick Shanley's Doubt, A Parable; The Sondheim/Lapine Musical Into The Woods; Melanie Marnich's These Shining Lives; Carlo Goldoni's The Servant Of Two Masters; And A Series Of Performances By Pepperdine Student Music Ensembles Throughout The Fall And Spring Semesters.

Additionally, Pepperdine Student Activities Presents Its Popular Dance In Flight.
