Master Mapmaker Hosts Lectures in Calabasas and Newbury Park

 

THOUSAND OAKS, CA—Master cartographer Tom Harrison will discuss the research and field-mapping methods used for his popular maps of the Santa Monica Mountains and beyond on July 12 and 13.

The July 12 talk will take place at the Santa Monica Mountains Interagency Visitor Center in Calabasas at 1 p.m.

The July 13 talks will take place at Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center in Newbury Park at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Harrison will also discuss how new technologies, such as GPS devices and smartphones, will affect the future of mapping. Map signing to follow.
