NPS Native American Art Exhibit, July 6

Silvia Huerta's artwork is inspired by nature. Her work will be the focus of an art exhibit hosted by the National Park Service on Sunday, July 6 at Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center.

THOUSAND OAKS, CA—The National Park Service will host an art exhibit opening for Silvia Huerta, a Native American artist inspired by nature, on Sunday, July 6 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center in Newbury Park.

Huerta uses a combination of pen, ink, stippling and sculptures to express her artistic vision. She will be on hand to discuss her work and answer any questions.

The exhibit will be available until the end of September. All ages are welcome, and the program and parking are free. Call (805) 370-2301 for more information.

Directions: Satwiwa is located at Rancho Sierra Vista in Newbury Park. From the 101 Freeway, exit at Wendy Drive and head south. Turn right on Lynn Road. Turn left on Via Goleta. Continue all the way to a parking lot where the road ends. Walk 0.3 miles to the Culture Center. Note: if you enter "Rancho Sierra Vista" into a GPS device it will take you to the wrong location.
