Coffeehouse at Bank of Books Malibu to Feature Local Musicians, June 21

Bank of Books Malibu will once again host up-and-coming local artists and veteran Malibu musicians at Coffeehouse, its popular evening of live acoustic music, on Saturday, June 21 from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the store, 29169 Heathercliff Road. The performers at this month’s Coffeehouse include:

• Leslie and Bill Bixler. Not only is Leslie Bixler a veteran performer with three albums to her credit, but she also leads Bank of Books’ monthly Rockin’ Rhythm Storytime for preschoolers.

• Laurie K. The classically-trained singer/songwriter Laurie K, who makes her home in Malibu, has performed in her native Finland and all over the world.

• Cellist Erik Chapman. At the last Coffeehouse, Malibu resident Chapman had the audience spellbound as he switched effortlessly from classical to “metal cello!”

• Sandrakota, the husband and wife duo of Sandra Pehrsson and Dakota Lee Martinez.

• Songwriter Mitch Carter. Malibu residents may remember Carter as the keyboard player for the blues/rock band The Reverend and the Doctor.

• Composer and songwriter Tanner Porter.

And back by popular demand, Lenny Goldsmith and the New Old. Formerly the lead singer for popular ‘70s bands Tower of Power, Malibu resident Goldsmith rocked at our last Coffeehouse.

Bank of Books Malibu is located in the Point Dume Village, at Pacific Coast Highway and Heathercliff Road. For further information call the store at (310) 457-5699.
