The Magic Bullet Fund for Dogs Fighting Cancer

There are about 65 million pet dogs in the US today and about half of them will have some form of cancer during their lives. Every day 8,000 dogs are diagnosed with cancer.

The Magic Bullet Fund (MBF) provides financial assistance to people who want to help their best friends fight cancer but have limited financial resources. Fund founder and administrator Laurie Kaplan and her Siberian Husky, Bullet (a.k.a. “The Magic Bullet”), have become a legend among dog lovers. After helping Bullet beat cancer Kaplan wrote and published an award-winning book, “Help Your Dog Fight Cancer,” to help others through the journey.

Now in its Second Edition, the book has helped tens of thousands of people with dogs who have cancer. Concurrent with the publication of the book, the MBF has seen more than 100 beautiful dogs through treatment.

To date, the Magic Bullet Fund has now assisted more than 300 dogs through cancer treatment. Thanks to a $50,000 grant from Petco Foundation, each new dog’s campaign opens with a generous launching gift from the fund
