Chamber of Commerce Welcomes New Residents with Gift Baskets

Chamber of Commerce Welcomes New Residents with Gift Baskets

A deluxe gift basket full of useful welcome items that the Chamber gives to new Topanga residents.

In addition to supporting its business members, Topanga’s Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to serving the community in a variety of ways, including reaching out to new residents to the Canyon and sharing with them the many wonderful things Topanga Canyon life has to offer.

The Welcome Committee delivered its first ‘Welcome Baskets’ of goodies, helpful tips and some Topanga essentials to 20 new residents in June, with 40 more baskets scheduled for delivery by the end of the month.

The attractive wooden slat harvest baskets, assembled by Diana Norwood of Flowers in The Canyon, are filled with helpful and informative materials including a copy of the Topanga Messenger and its “455 Directory;” a burlap bag with the One Topanga logo on it filled with a live oak sapling and emergency preparedness information from The Topanga Town Council; the “Chamber Guide to Topanga and Community Map” “Serving Topanga” brochure; information about poison-free rodent control and planting drought-tolerant plants from the Topanga Creek Watershed committee; the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum 2014 summer season program of plays celebrating Shakespeare’s 450th birthday; Anam Cara Compassionate Care Center and Hospice brochure; a mini-LED flashlight donated by Searchlight Insurance; a MicroFibre Cloth from Fibrenew; Aromatic Stress Relief Mister from Porchia’s WISH™; and a selection of discount coupons packaged in a lovely silk bag offered by Passing Performance™ Holistic Stress Reduction, Custom Sweets for You, Flowers in the Canyon, Randy Chance Music School, Canyon Car Service and Peace Tree Healing.

If you know of a new resident to the Canyon or would like to donate a gift item or discount coupon for the Welcome Basket, please contact the Chamber’s Membership Chair, Mary Guillermin, LMFT:
