Topanga Symphony Gala Fundraiser Scored a High Note

While the Topanga Symphony has presented free concerts to the community for the last 32 years, it held its first fundraiser on Sunday May 4.

As Symphony Board President, Arthur Mintz often says, “Free concerts are not free.” It was now important to raise some much-needed funding.

Fifty patrons gathered at Catherine McClenahan’s home on the Mesa with four musicians who charmed us with chamber music against the lush backdrop of Topanga’s hills. Guests enjoyed savory appetizers and sweet desserts while sipping champagne, and the Silent Auction contributed to additional funds raised at the event.

Many thanks go to those who contributed to the Symphony but who were unable to attend and to all those who attended.

The next free concert will be August 24 at the Community House.
