May Library Events


Wednesdays and Fridays beginning May 21 at 10:15 a.m.—Toddler Storytime. Joins us for stories, songs, fingerplays and more! Playtime follows story time.

Fridays at 4 p.m.—UMIGO—It’s Mathematical! Every week we will explore mathematical concepts through games and activities. Ages 5-8.

Wednesday, May 7 at 4 p.m.—Music with Andrew Dahl-Bredine. Join us for an interactive music and storytelling experience featuring skilled musician Andrew Dahl-Bredine, featuring musical instruments from around the world and traditional songs and beats. All ages welcome.

Thursday, May 8 at 3:30 p.m.—Teen Art: DIY Bookends. Decorate your own bookends to take home with you. Perfect for your bookshelf, desk, anywhere! All supplies will be provided. Ages 12-18.

Wednesday, May 14 at 7 p.m.—Sage Advice for Safety & Emergency Preparedness. Learn general safety information and tips for everyday safety, as well as emergency preparedness. Geared toward seniors but is open to all adults. Presented by Brad Davis, Emergency Services Coordinator for the City of Malibu. Co-sponsored by the Canyon Sages.

Thursday, May 15 at 3:30 p.m.—Spring Art Activity for Kids. Celebrate spring with a fun and creative art project! Ages 4 – 12.

Thursday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m.—WordPress Meetup. All levels of users are invited to attend our monthly meetings to share, collaborate and discuss all things WordPress blogging.

Tuesday, May 20 at 4 p.m.—Native American Dance & Culture. Ben Hale, a Navajo Indian, will guide us through the culture of several North American tribes through dance, music, and stories. Open to all ages.

Tuesday, May 20 at 7 p.m.—Book Club for Adults. We will be discussing “San Miguel” by T.C. Boyle. Visit the library to pick up a copy of the book before we meet. All adults welcome.

Thursday, May 22 at 4 p.m.—Kids Book Club. Join us as we discuss “Written in Stone” by Rosanne Parry, enjoy a snack and create some art! Ages 9-12. Note to Parents: Refreshments will be served.  A list of ingredients will be available at the program.

Saturday, May 24 at 3 p.m.—Teen Book Club. We will be discussing “Since You Asked” by Maurene Goo. Copies of the book will be available for checkout at the library. Ages 13-18.

Thursday, May 29 at 3:30 p.m.—Teen Game Day. Join us for an afternoon of board, card, and video games! A karaoke machine will also be available. Ages 12-18.

Friday, May 30 at 7 p.m.—Topanga Authors Group. All interested Topanga writers are invited to attend this networking event where there will be opportunities for not only networking, but also planning and a sign-up for eventual author talks and book signings. All authors are welcome.
