Peggy Berlin—1951-2014

Peggy Berlin loved nature, flowers and living in Topanga with her family.

Peggy Berlin passed away peacefully, surrounded by her husband Jan, her son Geoff, and her daughter Lara, on March 18, 2014, following a courageous battle with metastatic cancer.

Born in Ohio in 1951, Peggy moved to California to attend graduate school at UCLA, where she met her devoted husband of 35 years.

They lovingly parented two children and established a home in Topanga, CA, where they have lived since 2003.

Peggy was a woman of great heart, wisdom, and strength. A gifted psychologist in private practice for over thirty years, Peggy touched the lives of many, gracefully helping guide them through the most challenging moments. Peggy was blessed with an inquiring mind, a strong intellect and a thirst for reading. A student of Jungian work, she wove lessons from archetypal Greek myths into her daily life, deepening not only her own experience of this world but also of all those around her.

She was deeply connected with nature and throughout her life traveled to many sacred places across this country and around the world. Even through the most challenging times, Peggy remained extraordinarily present, positive and grateful for small blessings.

Peggy loved to watch the birds sing in the morning and to fill her home with flowers. She brought such beauty to her relationships—providing an endless source of compassion and love.

As a wife and partner, Peggy walked a path of kindness, truth, clarity and inspiration, building a home that was filled with light and a life that honored all that is sacred in this world.

For her children, she was not only an amazing mother, but also a mentor and a friend. Her example will continue to inspire many for years to come.

Memorial services were held for her at Pepperdine University’s Stauffer Chapel on March 22.
