Earth Action Day at TCC Launches Zero-Waste Program, April 27

In tune with Earth Day, the Topanga Community Club will hold its first annual Earth Action Day, an educational, family-oriented day full of earth-friendly activities, on Sunday, April 27. This is a free event. Earth Action Day is a “ZERO-Waste” event with recycling experts on hand to answer questions and give talks about reducing your waste and a long-term plan for the Topanga Community Club to become a 90 percent Zero Waste facility before 2018.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU EXPECT?

• Interactive demonstrations and hands-on workshops for young and old in gardening, composting, water conservation and more

• Learn how to make your own solar oven, owl box, or up-cycle books and make art out of trash

• Lunch for sale: Bring your own utensils and drinking container or purchase on site

• Dress appropriately to get dirty and do something for our planet

• Bring your e-waste to our Electronics Waste Drop Zone (Visit the TCC website for what to bring).

• Bring your corks, your bottle caps, your batteries and your extra reusable grocery bags. This is a free community event. From 10 a.m.-3 p.m., 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Limited parking. Carpooling and zero emission transportation encouraged.
