Sages Presents Move Wise, Tango and Pilates Classes

This Spring the Canyon Sages wants you to get moving. We have three new exercise opportunities that will free your body and soothe your mind, all held at the Community House. To keep numbers up and prices low, the Sages exercise classes are open to all ages.
Move Wise, beginning Friday, March 14, 9:30-10:30 a.m.Joelle Claret will lead classes based on the Feldenkrais method of moving well during ordinary life in a way that will enhance body and mind. You will explore everyday life movements (lying down, sitting up and down, reaching) to improve flexibility, the core, stability and coordination. Joelle promises the classes will be fun, deeply relaxing and very different from anything youve done before. This is an ongoing class that costs $6 per session.
Tango: Dance and Appreciation, Friday, March 21, 7 to 8:30 p.m.the Sages presents a six-session class in the iconic dance that was recently named to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Argentine Tango teacher and aficionado Bernard Selling will lead the class in rythmic exercises and then move on to the dance. Says Selling, The basics of tango dancing will be explored, but also how to create tango for yourself or in partnership with another. Listeners are welcome and musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments. Each class costs $8. Both singles and couples are welcome. RSVP to Bernard Selling at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pilates for Buff Bones with Lisa Levinson, Sunday, April 6, 10-11 a.m.Do you work during the week and need a weekend exercise opportunity? Buff Bones is a medically-endorsed workout that combines Pilates with bone-strengthening and balance techniques to optimize the health and safety of your bones. The workout follows a research-supported design of specifically sequenced exercises, making it an entire system of bone and joint health, rather than just a set of exercises. Toning your arms, hips, back and abs, it also improves posture and is adaptable to varying levels of ability. This ongoing class will be open to all and costs $6 per session. Bring a mat and weights.
