“One World”–14th Annual Topanga Student Art Show, Jan. 29-Feb. 2

This year, the students of Topanga Charter Elementary School have been asked to reflect on a global concept—“One World”. Some interesting questions come up for us all. How are we different or the same as others in the world? What does our world look like from our perspective? What parts of the world are most interesting to each of us? As the students contemplate these and other questions, they will be creating unique art pieces in many different mediums. The minds, hearts and eyes of children may lead us all to think of our world in a very different way than we expected. We ask that the community of Topanga join us for the 14th Annual Student Art Show Fundraiser. Once again, the Topanga Canyon Gallery will graciously host the Topanga Charter Elementary School students (Grades K-5) as they showcase their art work.

The show will run Wednesday, January 29 through Sunday, February 2, 2013. The artist reception and fundraiser, “One World,” will be held Friday, January 31st from 3-7 p.m. In addition to all the children’s art being sold at the event, there will also be a raffle for a special all-school art project. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the gallery during the running dates of the show.

“One World” is a community fundraiser. Come browse, purchase or donate and encourage the love of art for the students. All proceeds will go to TEP —the Topanga Enrichment Program, which funds our school programs such as art, physical education, drama, science, computer lab and teacher’s aides. Without TEP, these programs would not exist. (topangatep.org)
