“One World,” 14th Annual Topanga Student Art Show & Raffle

This year, the students of Topanga Charter Elementary School will present their annual Topanga Student Art Show and Raffle at the Topanga Canyon Gallery on Wednesday, Jan. 29 through Sunday, Feb. 2.

The artist reception and fundraiser, One World, will be held Friday, Jan. 31, 3-7 p.m. In addition, to the children’s art being sold at the event, there will also be a raffle for a special all-school art project. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the gallery during the running dates of the show.

The students were asked to reflect on a global concept, “One World,” that elicited some interesting questions: How are we different or the same as others in the world? What does our world look like from our perspective? What parts of the world are most interesting to each of us?

As the students contemplated these and other questions, they created unique art pieces in many different mediums. The minds, hearts and eyes of children may lead us all to think of our world in a very different way than we expected.

The community of Topanga is invited to join us for this fundraiser, hosted by the Topanga Canyon Gallery to showcase the students’ art (Grades K-5).

“One World” is a community fundraiser. Come browse, purchase or donate and encourage the love of art for the students. All proceeds go to the Topanga Enrichment Program (TEP), which funds school programs such as art, physical education, drama, science, computer lab and teacher’s aides. Without TEP, these programs would not exist. (topangatep.org)
