Free CERT Emergency Training Classes, Jan. 9- Feb. 20, 2014

Brad Davis, Emergency Services Coordinator for the City of Malibu, in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, will conduct the next series of free Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) training classes beginning January 9.
This is important disaster preparedness training for the whole community that takes place at Malibu City Hall for a series of seven Wednesday and Thursday evening classes. Anyone who previously attended CERT training but missed a class can make it up here to graduate and receive their CERT backpack. The schedule is as follows:
Thurs. Jan. 9 Disaster Preparedness overview
Thurs., Jan. 16Fire Suppression
Wed., Jan. 22Disaster Medical Triage & Rescue
Thurs., Jan. 30First Aid and Medical Organization
Classes are held at Malibu City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Malibu, from 6-8:30 p.m. and all classes must be attended in order to graduate. Missed classes,may be made up at a later date. Upon completion, participants receive a free beginners backpack of emergency gear.
