Victor and Jeannine Richards

The Topanga Town Council joined T-CEP in representing the Topanga community to honor Vic Richards by dedicating a plaque in his name mounted on the side of the former Christian Science Church building on Old Canyon.

This is a wonderful reminder of how he shaped our town and how grateful we are to have known him, and to have worked side by side with him on so many projects and organizations. He was a pillar in our community for such a long, long time—donating his time to Arson Watch, the Community House, T-CEP, and the Town Council just to mention a few.  We do miss him terribly, but now we have a wonderful way to remember him—every time we pass by the old and beautifully renovated church building.

In attendance at the Vic Richards plaque dedication were, from left, Jeannine Richards (wife), Bryce Anderson, James Grasso, Susan Clark, Scott Ferguson, John Stevens, Rebecca Goldfarb (kneeling) and Stacy Sledge (not pictured).

As fellow Topangan, Dale Robinette put it, "Vic was an absolute Treasure to Topanga." Indeed, he was—not only as his volunteer title of Town Council Treasurer, but also as a sparkling jewel of inspiration. Vic walked and ran an incredible life. From his sports days and teaching career, to his devoted marriage and volunteer contributions; Vic's footprint will be embedded forever in the mountains of Topanga. The Town Council owes a tremendous debt of gratitude for our longtime and beloved Board member and Treasurer.

Beginning in 1977, Victor Richards was an original Board member and Treasurer of the Topanga Town Council. He also volunteered for Arson Watch and T-CEP.

His vision helped move the Council from our humble beginnings in 1977 to the impressive organization it is today.

We will miss his friendship and his wonderful sense of humor.

The plaque on the front of the Christian Science Society building on Old Canyon Road honors Vic Richards.

We know Vic will be watching us all and giving his supreme wisdom from the heavens above. Aloha, Vic!
