Topanga Library Announces Topanga Digital History Launch Party, Oct. 12
September 19, 2013 -
The Topanga Library will hold a launch party for the Topanga Digital History Project on Saturday, October 12, at 2 p.m. The event will feature live entertainment from Susan Lovell and the Topanga Canyon Band, previews of the collection, and a chance to meet those who participated in the project.
Topanga Digital History is a community-based history project that aims to preserve and explore the history of Topanga by sharing the personal stories of those who shaped it. The project is a collaborative effort between the County of Los Angeles Public Library and the Topanga Historical Society. Its goal is to collect the Topanga communitys photographs, historical documents and, most importantly, stories to help tell the unique history of Topanga.
Topanga Digital History is an ongoing project and we will be adding more stories to the collection in the future.
If you would like to contribute your story to the collection, please visit TopangaDigitalHistory.org and e-mail us using the Contact button at the top of the page. We believe everyones story is worth telling and will be a valuable addition to the history of Topanga.
The Topanga Digital History is supported by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
