Free Talks: Moms Raising Girls, Sept. 7 and Sept. 9

Experiential talks by youth educator, Jenny Griffiths, M.A., Arts Education and Kamakshi Hart, M.A., Spiritual Psychology, will shine light on the complex challenges that emerge when mothers guide their daughters through their rites of passage.
Griffiths has been a teacher of young people for 20 years, is raising two daughters, now 13 and 16, and has led two Mother-Daughter Groups* for six years while guiding many more through her mentorship and teaching at Mariposa School for Global Education. (*based on the book, The Mother-Daughter Project). Hart is a counselor and guide for individuals, couples and families. A seasoned facilitator and mind/body educator for more than 20 years, Hart has a stepdaughter, 9, and goddaughter, 15, and is dedicated to helping moms and girls learn life-changing tools for a thriving journey.
On Sept. 7, the event takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Topanga Library, 125 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga, CA 90290
On Sept. 9, the Community Center at Top O Topanga, 3360 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga, CA 90290, will host the meeting from 7-9 p.m.
Later in September, Hart and Griffiths will co-facilitate an 8-week course, based largely on the book, The Mother-Daughter Project, to provide resources and the support moms need to gain greater knowledge about how to maintain a strong and healthy relationship with their daughters. Details will be shared at the free talks.
