Colin Hay played at the Canyon Bistro on Aug. 14.
You may have missed Topangas own Colin Hay on August 14, when the songwriter-singer performed at the Canyon Bistro.
It was such an intimate setting, said Joni Siegel. He was so funny, sang some Men At Work classics, some new songs, and his wife, Cecilia Noel, sang as well. He also engaged us in a couple of sing-alongs, which was a lot of fun.
Hay, whose last album, Gathering Mercury, a reflective work that speaks to the trials, yearnings and hopes we all share, was released in 2011.
Its hard to imagine, but those of us who missed this performance can only hope he plans to return. What a treat!
The next Bistro event takes place on Sat. Aug. 31, when it presents Classic 70s Rock Night beginning at 8 p.m. Owner Larry Cohn says to come dressed in your best 70s rock fashions for a free glass of wine and enjoy the great rock n roll band, Roughsedge, out on the patio. Rob Roughsedge leads his quartet through all the old favorites.
Dinner reservations are required for the patio. No cover. The Canyon Bistro is open seven days a week for lunch, dinner or brunch, Meatless Mondays through Sunday. The restaurant is located at 120 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga, CA 90290. For more information or to see menus: (310) 455-7800; canyonbistrotopanga.net.
