Protect Your Dog from Rattlesnake Bite, Aug. 24, 25
August 8, 2013 -
Mountains Restoration Trust announces that its Rattlesnake Avoidance Training Clinic for Dogs will be held at Simi Valleys Corriganville Park on August 24 and 25. Registrants will also receive a free goodie bag from Theresas Country Feed and Pet (theresascountryfeed.com/default.htm).
The one-on-one training session is performed by High on Kennels, which trains all types of dogs in a safe, humane and controlled environment repeated several times to insure that the dog understands the sight, smell and sound of a rattlesnake. (Rattlesnakes have a distinctive odor that dogs can discern from other snakes). With poisonous snakes biting at least 15,000 dogs per year, this training is essential to protect any dog.
Please allow one hour for an individual training session. Appointment times run between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., $70 fee. Sessions fill quickly and advance registration online is required: www.mountainstrust.org
For more information call Debbie Sharpton at (818) 591-1701, ext. 202. Corriganville Park is located at 7001 Smith Road, Simi Valley, CA 93063.
Proceeds benefit environmental education programs, restoration and acquisition of parklands and trails.
