PDSMM Celebrates Eight Years, Aug. 17

The Progressive Democrats of the Santa Monica Mountains (PDSMM) will hold their annual fundraiser and its eighth birthday party on August 17.
Award recipients at the party will be Zev Yaroslavsky, Bill Rosendahl and CODEPINK activists Medea Benjamin and Tighe Barry.
Lila Garrett (Connect the Dots on KPFK Radio), Kim Lamorie of the Las Virgenes Homeowners Federation (LVHF) and Jodie Evans will be presenting the awards emceed by KPFK's Alan Minsky.
This year PDSMM ran their own phone bank for Fran Pavley and had two important resolutions passed by the California Democratic Party, one calling for a moratorium on fracking and another calling for withdrawal from the Trans Pacific Partnership negotiations.
Dorothy Reik, president of PDSMM was elected to the board of the Progressive Caucus of the Democratic Party and five members are delegates to the California State Party Central Committee. PDSMM continues to work for progressive change both inside and outside the Democratic Party.
