Surf 4 A Cure, June 23

The Everlasting Smiles Foundation will host “Surfing 4A Cure” at Torrance Beach, CA. for a six-hour surf relay beginning at 6 a.m. to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

The event honors 10-year-old Abella Wyss who was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor when she was four. For the last few years she had been fighting a Stage 4 adrenal tumor that metastasized to her lungs.

“I am not only a captain for a team of 12, but I am going to surf and we are all looking for sponsors to support us,” says Robbie French-Yrigoyen, founder of Perfect Day Surf Camp (See “Summer Camps: Are You Ready? Perfect Day Surf Camp,” Messenger, Vol 37, No 8, April 18, 2013).

“Please donate anything you can at everlastingsmilesfoundation.org; even $5 helps. In the comments section please add my name, so we know whom you are sponsoring,” she said.

Park at 389 Paseo De La Playa, the parking lot to the beach where the teams will be surfing. Stay for an after-party at Game Changers, 1220 Hermosa Ave., Hermosa Beach, CA, from 5 to 8 p.m. For more information: (310) 980-2551; robbie@perfectdaysurfcamp.com.
