Grease, the Musical Lights Up the Stage at the Topanga Community House

After initially being thrilled to see Sandy again after their summer romance, Danny switches back to acting “too cool for school”. In Auto Shop the gang magically transforms an old heap into “Greased Lightning” (L-R front) Bella Garcia, Doody (Truey Riese), Danny (Jacob Billings), Sonny (Mohammad Magee), and Madeline Lampard. (L-R rear) Rodger (Benjamin Schmid) and Kenickie (Narayan Krueger). Principal, Miss Lynch (Amelia Lampard) scolds (L-R) Sonny (Mohammad Magee), Doody (Truey Riese) and Danny (Jacob Billings) for playing around with a guitar instead of getting to class. Sandy (Amalia Astin) is sad and “hopelessly devoted” to Danny whose picture she clutches. At the pajama party Marty shows the girls a picture of her boyfriend, Freddy, who’s one of many in her wallet. A transformed Sandy (Amalia Astin) and Danny (Jacob Billings) declare, “You’re The One That I Want” during the finale of Grease, the Musical. The Pink Ladies are less than thrilled that Frenchy has brought goody goody Sandy over to their lunch table. Topanga Youth Services presented Grease, the Musical at the Topanga Community House on March 8, 9 and 10. The book, music and lyrics were by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The play was directed by Karen Cooke with choreography by Cecile Stuart-Garcia. The set was designed by Andrew Moore and Tim Pershing, Jenny Astin and Guy Moore with lights by Sue Moore, Rob Davis and Karen Cooke. Chris Garcia and Forest Polsky did the sound and Dana Briskman and Jenni Billings created the costumes. The backstage crew were Sebastian Schmid, Keith Kruger, Carmen Flood, Rachel Moore, Puma Buck, Caleb Blue Briskman and Gabe Garcia. Grease is the word...!
