Drop, cover and hold onbut to what?
Medley Mary was telling me she was eating at a restaurant when a pretty good-sized earthquake jolted the place.
As a well-prepared Topangan, Mary dove under her table and held on to the table legs. She was amazed to see most patrons simply frozen in their seats with deer-in-the-headlights expressions.
A few ran out of the building (not a good idea!). They didnt have a clue what they should do.
When you are in a public place, take a few seconds to check out your surroundings and create a plan, just in case. A little pre-planning could save you from injury if everything starts to rock and roll.
Remember, earthquakes have no season. You can find more earthquake preparedness tips at www.shakeout.org.
