Topanga Tim Survival Tips – Registry for Seniors and Disabled

Everyone knows that the best person to ask for computer advice is a young person.  So Red Rock Ruth was helping her grandmother sign up online for a Los Angeles County registry called SNAP (Specific Needs Awareness Planning) at http//snap.lacounty.gov.

The confidential data base is being set up to identify people with disabilities, those who need help at home or in an evacuation shelter, people who don’t have transportation, and folks who use equipment that needs electricity.

Disaster planners will map the location of people needing special help.

They can’t guarantee assistance during a disaster, but it certainly is a step in the right direction.

“Topanga Tim” is brought to you by the Topanga Emergency Management Plan as a public service.
