16th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count

 

Mountains Restoration Trust (MRT) invites individuals, families and groups of all ages to join the 16th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count on February 17, 8 a.m. sharp until 10 a.m. (or earlier if you wish) at MRT’s Headwaters Corner Interpretive Center located at 23075 Mulholland Highway, Calabasas 91302.

Participants, whether beginner or advanced birdwatchers, will have the opportunity to learn about bird identification and behavior from experts.

This annual event conducted by Cornell University and the National Audubon Society, provides us with information about bird trends to better serve conservation efforts. This event, formally conducted in North America and Canada, is now an international event. Last year 104,000 checklists were sent in giving important data for learning how the birds are doing and how to protect them in the environment we share.Reservations are appreciated.

Bring your own binoculars, we have a few for people to borrow. A light snack will be offered.Donations of $5 per person are appreciated
