“Imagine” – 13th Annual Topanga Student Art Show, Jan. 29-Feb. 3

John Lennon has inspired the world with the lyrics from his song, “Imagine.” If the world can be so inspired, we thought the students of Topanga Charter Elementary would be as well. After all, using their imaginations and envisioning the world they would like to see is truly second nature to them. If you know any of them, you’ll surely agree.

For the thirteenth year, the Topanga Canyon Gallery will host the Topanga Charter Elementary School students (Grades K-5) as they showcase their response to John Lennon’s song. The students have been spending hours exploring the depths of their imaginations and creativity to produce some truly amazing work.

The show will run Jan. 29 to Feb. 3. The artists’ reception and fundraiser, Imagine, will be held Friday, Feb. 1, from 3-7 p.m. and will feature live music and a bake sale.

In addition to all the children’s art being sold at the event, there will also be a raffle for a special all-school art project. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the gallery during the running dates of the show.

“Imagine” is a community fundraiser. Come browse, purchase or donate and encourage the love of art for the students. All proceeds will go to the Topanga Enrichment Program (TEP), which funds our school programs such as art, physical education, drama, science, computer lab and teacher’s aides. Without TEP, these programs would not exist (topangatep.org).

Topanga Canyon Gallery is located at 120 N. Topanga Cyn Blvd. in Pine Tree Circle. The gallery will be open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Please note that the Student Show will end Sunday, Feb. 3. Purchased art can be picked up Monday, Feb. 4, between 10 a.m. and at 1 p.m. For more information: (310) 455-7909 or visit www.topangacanyongallery.com.
