Artists Hernandez and Brunnick at Topanga Canyon Gallery
PHOTO COURTESY OF CAROL HERNANDEZ Carol Hernandez’s painting “Eye of the Champion.”
The work of local artists Carol Hernandez and John Brunnick will be on display at the Topanga Canyon Gallery (TCG) October 31 through November 25, with an artists reception at the gallery to be held on Saturday, November 10, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Both artists create art that brings attention to the beauty of nature.
Carol Hernandez captures the many faces of the natural world in her award-winning paintings. Based on her original photography, her work is created using multiple layers of paint, pastel and charcoal. I love painting all types of flora and fauna because there is so much room for experimentation.
Thirty percent of the sale price of Hernandez artworks at the show will be donated to RideOn.org, a therapeutic equestrian organization. Ride On is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of children and adults with disabilities through a unique combination of equine-related therapy, recreation and fun.
More of her work can be seen at her website ArtistCarol.com.
John Brunnick captures the glory of the California coastline in his oil paintings and is showing a number of his most recent beachscapes.
The edge of the water along the California coast has always been a rich source of inspiration for me. These paintings are an effort on my part to evoke moments and emotions easily recognized by anyone with a fondness for the shoreline. Brunnick, a member of the California Art Club, has recently shown at the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art at Pepperdine University in Malibu.
More of his work can be seen at johnbrunnick.com.
Gallery hours for the exhibit are: Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The gallery is located at Pine Tree Circle, 120 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd. #109, Topanga, CA 90290.
