Jeff Kniffin: 1953 – 2012

Jeff Kniffin, Topanga resident of 30 years, born on Jan. 31, 1953 in Toledo, OH, was the first of Robert and Carmen Kniffin’s three children. Until he was about 10 years old, Jeff lived in a small rural community, Monclova, Ohio, with a large extended family nearby and lots of open space.

Robert and Carmen then moved to California, to Malibu West in Trancas Canyon, and stayed there for the rest of Jeff’s childhood. Jeff attended Malibu Park Junior High and Santa Monica High school and went on to study economics/business at UCLA, graduating with a double degree: CPA and MBA.

Following graduation, Jeff went to work at the accounting firm of Arthur Anderson, and stayed for several years, then moved on to work for a Savings and Loan. In the early 80s he bought his first house in Topanga Canyon on Vision Drive.

Jeff went into private consulting work, and in early 2000 started building his “dream home” on Arteique Road in Topanga. He was extremely pleased with the outcome and was proud to be a Topangan.

Jeff passed away on September 1, 2012 from complications after brain surgery.
