Photography, Food and 3 Chefs For City Hearts, October 20

City Hearts kids exhibit their photography. Oct. 20, at the historic Old Stagecoach Ranch in Old Canyon.

For Topangans, it is a dream come true to be philanthropic, enjoy delicious food and see fabulous photography all in one day and … all in Topanga.

The latest City Hearts fundraising event takes place Sat., October 20, 3:30 to 6 p.m., as Topanga’s own City Hearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts celebrates their excellent “Fresh Focus: A New Shot At Life” photography exhibit and fine foods by celebrity chefs at the historic Old Stagecoach Ranch.

The Exhibit will feature the photography of Jeff Bridges, Armando Arorizo, Robin Becker, Patrick Bolton, James Chressanthis, Annabel Clark, Katie Dalsemer, Anthony Friedkin, Michael Grecco, Jane Kerr, Douglas Kirkland, Alan Levenson, John Lewis, Brian Nieman, Martin Parr, Nancy Rosen, Jane Seymour, David Skernick, Claire James Steinberg, Arthur Tress, Raul Vega, Felice Willat, Lloyd Ziff, City Hearts International Spokesperson, Max Adler, and City Hearts “Artists of the Future.”

All images will be displayed “anonymously” and guests will choose and bid on their favorite photos. Will you win the work of a famous internationally recognized photographer? Or the inspired work of a City Hearts “Artist of the Future?”

At 5 p.m., photographers’ names will be revealed, the highest bidders announced and the 2013 Calendar of 12 exhibit photos, selected by Julian Cox, Chief Curator of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, will go on sale.

Guests will enjoy delicious and exquisite foods by Larry Cohn of The Canyon Bistro; Jeffrey Kramer of Topanga Catering; and Sam Elias of Sam’s By the Beach. Pair your favorites with exceptional wines donated by Bonnie Graves of Girl Meets Grape, or Tequila cocktails from Tequila Loca. Nic Harcourt, KCSN DJ and DirecTV Guitar Center sessions host, will spin the music.

City Hearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts, founded in 1984 by Sherry and Bob Jason (of the Topanga Nutcracker Ballet) has provided the highest quality arts education and enrichment to the poorest children in economically distressed communities throughout Los Angeles County. Reaching out and transforming the lives of over 30,000 children, City Hearts efforts enhance academic skills, and keep children interested in learning and staying in school, inspiring them to reach for their best as caring members of the community.

Your generosity and support will help many children who need the vital programs City Hearts provides. Great thanks to Robin Becker and Felice Willat for being instrumental in bringing this fabulous event together. To see the chefs in action, go to the City Hearts website: www.cityhearts.org
