Meet the Candidates Betsy Butler and Sen. Fran Pavley

Congresswoman Betsy Butler, candidate for Assembly District 50, will hold an informal Coffee and Cookies gathering at the Inn of the Seventh Ray on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. to meet and speak with Topanga voters and answer any questions they may have.

Butler, represented AD53 until 2010 when redistricting significantly redrew the lines. In 2011, she decided to run for a seat in AD50, vacated by Rep. Julia Brownley who terms out this year.

Later that day, State Sen. Fran Pavley will hold a fundraiser hosted by Kathy and Alan Berkowitz, at their home in Calabasas, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., to pursue her reelection against Republican Todd Zink. A contribution of $25 or more gets you in the door, or donate at https://secure.actblue.com/page/calabasas. For more information or to R.S.V.P, contact Heather at(310) 477-8081, or at RSVP4Fran@yahoo.com.

Redistricting of State Senate District 27 changed what was likely to be an easy win for Pavley into a hard-fought race to retain her seat. The district expanded to include Simi Valley and Santa Clarita that has a large Republican population. For more information: http://www.franpavley.org.
