Free Community Sustainability Workshop by TreePeople
On Saturday, Sept. 15, Tree People will be conducting free sustainability workshops at Coldwater Canyon Park, 12601 Mulholland Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210. Sign in begins at 8:45 a.m., Workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes:
Citizen Forestry: Tree Planting: Trees provide a variety of benefits including shade, beauty, water capture and food! Learn what it takes to bring trees to your neighborhood including permits, tree selection and more.
Rainwater Harvesting: Learn about berms, and native plants that combine to create rain gardens and other earthworks solutions that infiltrate the rain. Well also learn about rain barrels, rain chains and more!
Native Plants and Turf Reduction: Southern California native plants are a beautiful, smart choice for a garden. Learn how to reduce a thirsty landscape, convert your sprinklers to more efficient irrigation and add lovely climate-appropriate native plants.
Outreach Volunteer Training: Become a certified Outreach Leader to represent TreePeople at public events! Learn TreePeople history, programs, and the basics of outreach volunteering in an interactive and informative manner.
Workshop materials, light breakfast and snacks are provided.
