Topanga State Park General Plan Set for Approval, Friday, Sept. 28

The California State Park and Recreation Commission will meet on Friday, Sept. 28, at 9 a.m. in the Garden Terrace Room of the Annenberg Community Beach House, 415 Pacific Coast Highway, in Santa Monica.
Agenda items include consideration and possible action on the Department recommendation to approve the General Plan/Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for Topanga State Park. The agenda will also include consideration and possible action on the Department recommendation to establish a 158-acre cultural preserve subunit in Topanga State Park to be named Topanga Cultural Preserve.
The General Plan/EIR for Topanga State Park will be available for review at these locations: State Parks Angeles District Office, 1925 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas; Will Rogers State Historic Park, 1501 Will Rogers Park Road, Pacific Palisades; Palisades Branch Library, 861 Alma Real Drive, Pacific Palisades; Malibu Library, 23555 W. Civic Center Way, Malibu, and on the Internet at www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=21312.
The Commission will take part in a briefing on the general plan for Topanga State Park on Thursday, Sept. 27. The briefing will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the historic Skeet Lodge at Trippet Ranch in Topanga State Park, 20825 Entrada Road, in Topanga. No deliberations will take place and no action will be taken by the Commission during the briefing.
