Canine Companions for Independence Open House, July 21

Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), a nonprofit organization that provides assistance dogs to people with disabilities free of charge, will host an open house at its Los Angeles office on Saturday, July 21, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The public is invited to enjoy assistance dog demonstrations, meet local human-canine teams and see presentations about the Canine Companions program. Learn how working dogs help their human partners with practical tasks. Meet human-canine teams, volunteer puppy raisers and puppies in the program. Hear about the rewards of volunteer puppy-raising and how Canine Companions assistance dogs transform lives and how you can help the cause.

Potential assistance dog applicants, professionals serving people with disabilities, dog lovers and charitable community members interested in getting involved are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

Guests are encouraged to RSVP to (310) 446-5700 by July 19. Visit cci.org/laopenhouse for more information. CCI offices are located at 2312 Westwood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90064.
