Sustainable Fashion Highlights Women's Conference, May 19
Women of the Green Generation (WOTGG) will host their third annual conference for women who are inspiring leaders, visionaries and drivers in creating solutions to our current environmental, economic and social challenges.
This years event will feature a sustainable fashion show produced and styled by Rebecca Mink highlighting green designers including Mink Vegan Shoes, Sita Couture by Sita Thompson, Liza Shtromberg Jewelry, Fahmina, Violetta Villacorta, Vital Hemptations, B Green Apparel, and Anna Herman Designs along with ec- apparel and accessories vendors.
Among the confirmed speakers are: Rachelle Carson Begley, actress and co-star of the popular green reality show Living with Ed; Sarah Backhouse, Host Speaker and Sustainability Expert and founder of Future360; Rebecca Harrell Tickell, producer of the acclaimed films Fuel and The Big Fix, and author of "Hot, Rich & Green;" Anna Getty, sustainable lifestyle consultant, yoga teacher and author of the popular "Easy Green Organic Cookbook;" Zhena Muzyka, founder of Zhena's Gypsy Tea; Andrea Robinson, Founder ARC Sustainability; Sherry Watson, Leading Grant Expert; Dr. Kathy Gruver, author of "The Alternartive Medicine Cabinet;" Felicia Marie Tomasko, RN, Yoga instructor and Editor in Chief of LA Yoga Ayurveda and Health Magazine; Tracy DiNunzio, founder Recycled Bride & Recycled Media Inc.; Patty Schmucker, CEO Performance Branding Solutions and founder of Dosha Care Customized Ayurvedic Skin Care
Organizers expect more than 400 women and 40 sustainable businesses that will ignite and inspire those who feel called to actively participate in the evolutionary transformation of the individual self, society and the environment.
In addition to the fashion focus, the 2012 conference will highlight workshops offering attendees a chance to connect with amazing women who will be sharing their expertise and insights in a variety of green business topics.
Created by South Bay-based innovator, marketer and green living entrepreneur, Kris Wiley, Women of the Green Generation was formed in June 2009 to bring together Los Angeles area women interested in starting or expanding their environmentally driven businesses.
The all-day affair will take place in the penthouse suite at Loft Seven, 219 West 7th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90014, from 11 a.m. 7 p.m. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for registration. There is no all day street parking nearby but there are many lots in downtown LA, with rates starting at $6 for the day.
The event has three event admission options: $40 - General Admission (does not include food; guest will have affordable food options for purchase from caterer Large Marge Sustainables); $75 - VIP all-inclusive package that includes preferred seating for speaker presentations, all food and drink on day of event and access to private green lounge; $150 - WOTGG Lifetime Membership that includes admission to the May 19 conference plus membership benefits and discounts on all future events for life.
