Herbicide Use in Lower Topanga

Dear Editor,

I just got back from my old homestead, the Rodeo Grounds, and I’m in shock: I saw State Park people out in force, cutting down arundo and spraying the whole area with Roundup. Hundreds of gallons. They have declared war on a new “invasive” plant, it seems. But the creek is flowing and if we get some more rain, the chemicals will end up in the surf. Herbicides should have no place in State Parks, in my opinion, and those non-native plants haven’t killed anybody, chemicals have.

Can you call State Parks and find out who is behind this action?
