Billy Elliot The Musical Opens at Pantages Theatre, April 10-May 13

The 2009 Tony Award winner for Best Musical, Billy Elliot the Musical makes its L.A. premiere at the Pantages Theatre for five weeks, April 10May 13. Previews are April 10-11.
Based on the 2000 film, Billy Elliot, it features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry.
The life of a miner's son in Northern England is forever changed when he stumbles upon a ballet class on his way to boxing lessons. He joins the class, but keeps it a secret from his widowed father and overbearing brother. Eleven-year-old Billy demonstrates the kind of raw talent seldom seen by the class' exacting instructor, Mrs. Wilkinson who encourages him to try out for the Royal Ballet School in London. When his father and brother find out, they forbid him to continue. But Billysoverwhelming desire to dance becomes his passion, and it is his destiny.
The musical features Ty Forhan, Kylend Hetherington, Zach Manske and J.P. Viernes in the alternating role of Billy.
