Blessing of the Animals, April. 7
The Olvera Street Merchants present the annual Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, April 7, from Noon to 5 p.m. at El Pueblo Historical Monument located between Main and Alameda Streets.
A procession, led by a cow arrayed with a blanket of flowers, will begin along Olvera Street at 2 p.m., ending with the blessing by the Most Reverend Archbishop of Los Angeles José H. Gomez. Music, nonprofit animal organizations, pony rides and a petting zoo complete with llamas, sheep, cows and other animals will round out the afternoon of entertainment.
