A Friend in Felton

Dear Editor:

I’ve only received my first two copies of the Topanga Messenger, but I really had to tell you what a terrific treasure trove of wonderful stuff it is!

Al Martinez’s take on the Academy Awards gave me a great laugh, plus I think his analysis of the various movies was spot-on. Looking forward to more of his columns.

And two very beautiful, and poignant articles — Alexandra Snegoff on Her Sister, and Kathie Gibboney on Wolly Bear the Caterpillar — both of them such powerful descriptions of our life on this planet.

You’re certainly blessed to have such people as Ellen Geer, Fran Pavley, Karen Sherwood and Susan Clark in your community.

Can’t wait to get a copy of Michelle Johnson’s The Topanga Story. And really wish someone would write a book about Will Geer — he was such a great actor and by all accounts, a first rate human being. He’s one of the people I look forward to meeting when it’s my time to go on to the next great adventure. If there has been a book written about him that I’m not aware of, would like to find out about it.

Am hoping to be able to come down to Topanga sometime this summer for a performance at the Teatricum Botanicum. In the meantime, look forward each week to my copy of the Messenger. It’s very much appreciated!

Thanks for all that you do.
