New Neighborhood Network Program Energizes Topanga Organizers

On October 17, more than 70 T-CEP Neighborhood Network ("NN") coordinators and captains met at the Mountain Mermaid. David Updike, Fire Management Officer for MRCA (Mountains Restoration and Conservation Authority) presented the reality of a wildland fire in Topanga. Rebecca Goldfarb, the new team leader for the NN, gave a presentation on the new NN programs and direction for 2010. James Grasso from the T-CEP Disaster Radio Team, Claire Davis from C.E.R.T. and Abigail Bok from Arson Watch each presented information on the education and training their teams provide to existing and potential volunteers. Participants were motivated and invigorated to create or improve their personal emergency plans and to organize their neighborhoods. If you have questions about coordinating your neighborhood, please e-mail nn@t-cep.org or call (310) 455-0326.
