I Love Topanga Canyon Gallery

By Ken Fermoyle

Topanga Canyon Gallery artists approach Valentine's Day in their usual quirky, multifaceted fashion. The result is a February exhibit at the gallery that includes everything from traditional hearts and flowers representational art to contemporary work that suggests, tantalizes and stretches the imagination.

"If you're looking for a special gift for that special someone in your life, check us out," urges Karen Saviskas, chair of the February exhibit committee. "Instead of a fattening box of chocolates, consider giving a work of ‘eye candy.' Art won't melt in your mouth but it will be a lasting memento of your affection and a visual treat for years to come. Our flowers don't die in a few days!

"We don't just offer art that hangs on the wall, either. There is an intriguing collection of sculpture and other 3D pieces, plus original, one-of-a-kind jewelry, ceramics, gourds, striking photographs and digital art."

The Valentine's Day-themed show runs from February 7 through February 26. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. There will be an artists' reception on Saturday, February 11, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Topanga Canyon Gallery–owned and operated by a carefully selected cooperative of some 40 professional artists–is located at 120 North Pine Tree Circle, Suite109. Call (310) 455-7909, or e-mail info@topangacanyongallery.com or visit www.topangacanyongallery.com for more details.
